The Moon

As I mentioned in my last post, we bought an amazing camera that has increased the range of our vision. When we decided to buy a camera though, it was just with the intention of taking snaps that are better than the ones taken by the phone camera. We started out with this one basic need and then since a good zoom is always welcome, settled with the Canon SX60HS after a lot of research.
Once it arrived, we tried giving each function a try and took a few snaps here and there. The first weekend, we thought 'why not give the moon shot a try'. We went to our building parking area, where we could see the moon. We looked at it through the lens and zoomed in, as far as we could go and we were spellbound. We could see the craters, the famous (this name will seem familiar only if you are a 2001 space odyssey fan) Tycho crater, the seas, the undulations. (This is one useful image)

The moon has always mesmerized me, and looking at it up close, firsthand, is a feeling that I am not capable of expressing very well in words.
Till date, I had seen such details only in snaps available online (Yes, now these snaps will be one of them) This experience was mind boggling and post this, the enthusiasm just went up by leaps and bounds.

P.S. I am sure you will see a lot of new posts because of the new lens that I now have.

P.P.S. That tells me, that I should also get down to study the moon in better detail.

1 year and still moving on...

I complete my first year with the IT industry...I complete 1 year of corporate life today on the 6th of July 2009. Last year, the 7th July..was a day full of apprehensions, expectations, adjustment, anxiety. My first day at work...just fresh out of college. I didnt't even have my BE results then, not that I was doubtful of the results..:P For my experience on the first day, read this . My first year has been so enjoyable, and I'm sure it wouldnt have been as much fun, had I not been at AirTight. People here are fun, and give you the freedom to work as per your convenience as long as your convenient schedules do no outstretch the company deadlines, which is more than fair. Thats precisely why I never missed important events like, results (even though they were on a Saturday),my convocation ceremony. A job can be sooo much fun too...

I dunno y I didn't write abt this earlier....bt nevertheless...   Lets start with my first day at AirTight... I arrive in semi-formals...spick n span...wondering how d ppl arnd r gonna be....(nt tat I expected strict discipline n stuff...bt...even then...) As usual....am a bit too punctual...arrive even before the HR...:) so...use the time yakking to frnds..sitting in d parking lot... After the formalities...r done with...am askd to wait for a meeting (scheduled at 12) to be introduced to my team... I had arnd an hour before the meeting...n so...thoughts,expectations abt the team...abt the work..kept creeping in...
